Stay on track for the Big Quiz

A Hornby haul is up for grabs at the KM Big Charity Quiz which steams into Ashford International Hotel this month – and there is still time for teams to book.

Quiz-goers could turn big game hunters and try their luck at winning goodies donated by the toy giant for the event’s bumper raffle.

In fact Hornby has given away a cornucopia of prizes for the KM Charity Team to dish out at its fundraising events this year - including a Scalextric set, a Thomas the Tank Engine train set, model plane kits, and more.

Gifts have already been won at the Medway and Canterbury heats of the KM Big Quiz, and more will feature at the Ashford heat on Friday, June 15.

The classic toy manufacturer has supported the KM Big Quiz in this way for the past six years.

“Hornby’s support is one of the reasons the quiz has been so successful as an event and effective at raising funds for good causes,” said Simon Dolby, chief executive of the KM Charity Team.

“If you’re a lucky winner and take home a Hornby prize, you’ll get the chance to relive childhood memories, add to your collection, start a new hobby - or why not share these fantastic toys with the kids?”

The KM Big Quiz will raise funds for the Kentish Express newspaper's charity of the year Ashford Volunteer Centre as well as road safety services for schools.

A third beneficiary will be chosen on the night via prize draw from the charities submitting at least one quiz team.

The windfall will be doubled by Barclays bank which is matching money raised pound for pound from raffle ticket sales and purchases from the Shepherd Neame charity bar.

There is everything to play for as each member of the overall winning team will take home £150 worth of DFDS Seaways vouchers. They will also take on the top teams from each of the four heats - which includes a Maidstone quiz in November - at the KM Big Charity Quiz grand final at the end of the year.

One quick-thinking quiz-goer will scoop a pair of Eurostar tickets if he or she correctly answers an on-the-spot trivia question in the ‘win in 10’ mini-game.

Key partners of the Big Quiz include Specsavers, Hallett and Co Solicitors, and Office Angels.

Book a team of up to eight people at www.kmbigquiz.co.uk and use the discount code KMNEWS18. Ticket price includes a generous selection of snacks plus a bottle of wine and fizzy water for the table.
