A glorious musical occasion is promised when the chamber choir Cantate sing a mixture of popular songs at a charity concert at Hilderstone Memorial Theatre in Broadstairs on Sunday.

Money raised will go to Odyssey which helps cancer survivors and sufferers to overcome the physical and psychological ravages of the disease.

The funds will boost monies raised by oncology nurse Hazel Jones, who works at the Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother and Kent and Canterbury hospitals.

She will embark on a 70km sponsored trek in Vietnam in October for Odyssey.

The charity concert takes place at 7.30pm and tickets are available in advance at £7 from the box office on 0845 2626263 or from Ms Jones on 07884 458849.

The Thanet-based chamber choir was formed in 1996 under musical director Edward Greenhalgh.
