JUST one word summed up how runner Sharon Barnett felt after completing the London Marathon – “awesome”.

Mrs Barnett, of Linton Hill, Linton, near Maidstone, passed the finishing line in a very respectable three hours and 51 minutes and raised £2,100 for the British Heart Foundation.

She was one of 34,000 people who ran in Sunday’s event and one of dozens of people from the County Town who took part to raise money for charities of their choice.

The property developer said: “It was awesome, I’m still on an adrenaline high from the whole thing.

“The physical pain wasn’t too bad but at about one hour 23 minutes I saw my friends and family at the roadside and it was really, really emotional. I started to hyperventilate and I had to tell myself to get a grip.”
