This year’s quiz takes place at the University of Kent’s Canterbury campus on Friday April 26, with Kentish Gazette charity of the Year Eva’s Angels as well as the Kent and Canterbury Hospital’s League of Friends being among the good causes set to benefit.

There will be a raffle featuring Hornby collectables, and a charity bar supplied by Shepherd Neame – with all the proceeds from drinks sales going to charity and being match-funded by Barclays Bank.

There will be a special prize for the winning team, and one random lucky participant will get the chance to win two Eurostar tickets via the ‘Win in 10’ game.

Competitors will enjoy a ploughman’s dinner courtesy of the League of Friends, and there will be a bottle of wine and a bottle of fizzy water on each table.

And the top four teams will go through to the Big Charity Quiz county-wide final.

Event coordinator Dominic Comins said: “Fans of wine-and-wisdom-style events need to act fast to ensure their participation in what is one of the most exciting quizzes in the county.

“The KM Big Charity Quiz is guaranteed to be a great night, with top teams, an electric atmosphere, a fantastic bar generously provided by Shepherd Neame and loads of prizes.

“So book your table now.”

Any organisation entering a minimum of three teams will be presented with a prize for their best-performing group.

And there will be separate prizes for the top teams from the NHS and care sector and from local government and schools.

The quiz is open to teams of up to eight people, with doors opening at 6.20pm for a 7pm start. The fun is estimated to finish at 10.30pm.

Also taking a share of the charity pot will be KM Charity Team services supporting child literacy and road safety, plus one charity chosen via prize draw.

The entry price is £65 per eight-person team, but there is a £10 discount when you book using the discount code KMNEWS19.
