Disabled children will be able to enjoy more outings thanks to the donation of a minibus.

Model and actress Nancy Sorrell officially unveiled the £20,000 vehicle bought for the Kent Kids Miles of Smiles charity.

The Love Actually star attended a ceremony at the charity which cares for severely disabled children at Footprints in Stodmarsh Road, Canterbury.

Her husband, funnyman Vic Reeves, was unable to make it because of work commitments.

Nancy, 33, said: “This really is an amazing place and it does extremely important work.”

The minibus was bought using a donation by Steve Farley, a supporter of the charity, of S.C. Farley Electricial Ltd.

Liz Baxter, the charity’s head of funding, says the minibus would transform the charity’s work.

“We will be able to take the children on a lot more days out and a lot further than before,” she said.

Footprints has six residential children, three semi-residential and six who come in for respite care.
