THESE volunteers from Vertex Law will go to any lengths to support their favourite charity - even if it means dropping 100ft off the side of a building.

The fund-raisers are all set to take part in the Kent Charity Challenge abseil event, scheduled for Saturday, April 26, and have each pledged to raise at least £75 in sponsorship for the abseil's two good causes The Heart of Kent Hospice, and the KM Walking Bus.

Manager Sue Crist said: "The hospice is particularly close to our hearts, because we had a member of staff who was suffering from cancer."

Vertex is also supporting the event as a corporate sponsor, helping to pay for the safety equipment abseilers will use to descend the side of the Fremlin Walk building in Maidstone's town centre.

The organisers would like to encourage still more volunteers to take part.

Charity projects manager Simon Dolby said: "Vertex is doing its bit. How about more firms submitting teams to represent their company?"

Individuals are welcome too. For information on how to enter, fill in the form on this page or visit the abseil section of the website: www.kentcharity challenge.co.uk
