Or maybe you’d like to explore the Flanders battlefields to mark the centenary of the end of the Great War.

Well, DFDS Seaways could be helping you on your way if you register a table for the KM Charity Quiz.

The ferry company is providing vouchers worth more than £150 for each member of the winning team.

Quiz organiser Dominic Comins said: “This really is a fantastic prize, and I cannot overstate just how grateful we are to DFDS Seaways for their generosity and continued support for the quiz.

“The winners and the three runner-up teams will also go through to January’s county Big Quiz final.

“And everyone who takes part will go home knowing that they will have helped to raise vital funds for one of Kent’s most valued charities, the Heart of Kent Hospice, as well as for the KM Charity Team’s literacy and road safety work in schools.

“So even if you don’t win the top prize, you are guaranteed to enjoy a great and memorable night.”

The quiz, which is organised by the KM Charity Team and takes place on Friday, November 9 at Maidstone Leisure Centre in Mote Park.

There will also be a raffle featuring Hornby collectables, and one person selected at random will have the chance to win spa tickets in the timed ‘Win in 10’ round.

Brewer Shepherd Neame is supplying all the drinks for the charity bar, which will be run by staff from Barclays bank. The latter will also match the funds raised by the bar. Contestants will also receive substantial nibbles and a bottle of wine on the table.

In addition to Barclays, Shepherd Neame, Hornby and DFDS Seaways, the quiz is supported by accountancy practice Wilkins Kennedy, and Office Angels.

It is for teams of up to eight people, with doors opening at 6.20pm for a 7pm start. The fun is estimated to finish at 10.30pm.

The entry price is £65 per team, but there is a £10 discount when you book using the discount code KMNEWS18.
