Don’t miss out on rare abseil

Kent’s only charity abseil of the summer takes place next weekend, and you can still book a place – even if you’d like to do it just for fun.

The abseil takes place on Sunday, June 30, at Thomas Place in Maidstone, where there will be a 100ft drop.

While the event will raise money for good causes across Kent, there is no fundraising obligation – which means it provides a perfect bucket-list opportunity for adrenaline junkies or people looking to stretch themselves by doing something out of the ordinary.

The abseil is supported by Housing & Care 21, Maidstone Scaffolding and Specsavers. It was originally scheduled to take place in March but had to be rescheduled after disruption caused by bad weather.

Organiser Dominic Comins said: “This is one of only two opportunities to take part in an abseil challenge in Kent this year.

“So if you’re looking for a fun and exciting experience, don’t miss out on this opportunity. Otherwise, you’ll have a long wait until our next one in October.”

You need to be over 14 to take part, and no more than 16 stone in weight.

The cost is £25, but there is a £5 discount when using the booking code KMNews19 online.

You can book online at www.kmcharityteam.co.uk/challenge/abseil or simply turn up and pay on the day between 10am and 1pm.
