Do you know Jillian Bowden or any of her relatives?

Private papers bearing her name were handed in to a charity shop along with two bags of clothes and bric-a-brac.

Now Margaret Hanlon, manager of the Sue Ryder shop in Tenterden High Street, is keen to trace the donor so the papers can be returned.

The bags were handed in by a woman on Saturday and among them was a tin.

Mrs Hanlon said: “When my colleague opened the tin she found a birth certificate, some O-level certificates from 1961, some letters and a small medal from the Poetry Society.”

The name on the certificates and letters is that of Jillian Bowden.

Mrs Hanlon added: “If the lady who donated these items would like to contact us I would be delighted to give them back to her.”

The shop can be contacted on 01580 766683.
