Another good cause added to the Big Quiz

Children in Need will benefit from the KM Big Quiz.

The popular event, which attracted 67 teams last year, will be held on Friday, November 14 – the same night as the BBC’s mammoth fund-raiser.

Big Quiz organiser Simon Dolby has now decided to share out the proceeds.

He said: “It is only fair that Children in Need shares in the success of the Maidstone Big Quiz and quiz goers can have lots of fun on the big night, knowing that they are supporting this vital national charity as well as all our great local causes.”

Proceeds raised on the night will be divided between the Heart of Kent Hospice, children’s road safety charity Kent Walking Bus and the Mayor of Maidstone’s charity appeal.

In addition, a fund-raising game planned for the night will be used to support Childen in Need.

The cost for a table of eight people is £56, which is £7 per person and includes a ploughman’s meal and a complimentary glass of wine in the price.

Sponsors who have already agreed to support the KM Big Quiz include Maidstone Leisure Centre, which is providing the venue for free, Fremlin Walk, the main sponsor of the night, P&O Ferries, which has donated vouchers for all eight members of the winning team to take a car and up to nine passengers to France for an extended trip, and Shepherd Neame who will organise the charity Spitfire bar.

The quiz will be held at Maidstone Leisure Centre, in Mote Park, Maidstone, from 7pm on Friday, November 14.

To have a quiz round named after your business or organisation costs a minimum of £100 in sponsorship. For information call the KM Charity Team on 0844 264 0292.
