Chatham boss Kevin Watson has no fears about bringing rookie keeper Lee Kidman into the fray.

Kidman, who has only played for Chatham twice before, will replace the injured Jack Bradshaw in their Ryman League, Division 1 North home game against Wroxham on Saturday.

Watson said: “If I didn’t think he could do it, he wouldn’t be here.

“He’ll be fine and that’s how people get their chances at all levels. He needs to take his chance now but he will be under no extra pressure.”

Kidman has had to wait patiently for his chance but was not on the bench last weekend when Bradshaw limped off with a knee injury.

Outfield player Luke May went in goal and after conceding an initial penalty, no further harm came Chatham’s way, as they beat Burnham 2-1.
