Medway Area Sunday League round-up (08/10/23)

The top two teams shared the spoils in the Medway Area Sunday League Premier Division on Saturday.

Quested and Chatham Town SR drew 2-2. Sam Stace and Harvey Welford scored for Quested with Caleb Dyce and Ethan Emmons on target for Chatham Town.

Aaron Chiles and a brace from Dean Hughes saw Cliffe Woods Colts to a 3-0 home win against Wigmore.

Jamie Blackham, Ariola Ameen, Ayo Jimoh, Samuel Shobande and Michael Shobande were all on target in Medway Invicta’s 5-1 victory over Star Meadow, who replied through Gabriel Luckhurst.

Swallow Rise 93 shaded Medway Sport XI 3-2 to sit top of Division 1 with four wins from four games.

Goals from Josh Wheeler, Ainsley Linton and Jamie Cooper proved enough as Jack Hardy and Tom Lichfield replied.

AFC Shorne lost 3-2 to Rochester, who triumphed thanks to Alfie Montague, Nathan Bertrand and Tyler Cornelius.

Liam Ogle’s goal was not enough as Borden Park Wanderers went down 3-1 to Rainham Kenilworth, whose goals came from Yomi Yusuph and Nathan Young (2).

Springhead Park had Ben Cable (2), Ryan Emblen, Danny Hughes and Aaron Jones to thank for their 5-2 win against Anchorians Athletic, who replied through Simon Rudd and Boca Dawudu.

Swanscombe Tigers lost 3-2 to FC Catalans. Tom Searles and Daniel Ginno scored for Swanscombe but Sam Allen (2) and Sam Heard sealed the points.

In Division 2, Jack Burnham, Reece Marjolin and Matt Wills were on target in Cliffe Woods Colts A’s 3-1 win over ASK Medway, whose reply came from Josh Walters.

Harry Hatton scored the lone strike for Hempstead United in their 4-1 loss to Real 60, who had Ralph Bedford (2), Noah Stevens and Daryl Vivash on the scoresheet.

Matthew Smith, Joshua West, Tashinga Musiza, Joshua Obafemi and Abdalhakeem Ahmed all netted in Riverside Academy’s 5-3 victory over Omega 92, Matt Palmer, Matt Pemberton and Rob Hendrie scored for Omega 92.

Reece Bissenden (3), Callum Leonard (2), Stevie Fox and Brandon Wooley all netted in Swallow Rise 93 Reserves; 7-1 victory over Bredhurst.

The Walnut Tree made it four wins from four in Division 3 after hitting double figures against New Brompton 1893.

They won 10-1 with goals from George Baker (4), Neal Parkes (2), Quadri Muheez, Niall Cullen, Nigel Day and Shea Cullen while Lewis Webster netted for the visitors.

Tom Baker, a Jordan Randall penalty and Kane Parkes netted in Bredhurst Juniors United’s 8-3 defeat to London Road.

Sam Kenny, Joe Hayes, Tom Fuller and Kyle Williams were on target in Medway Rovers 20’s 4-2 win against Pegasus 81, Swayze Whale and Jack Watkin-Everitt replied for Pegasus 81.

In a game of eight goals Cliffe Woods Rangers came out on top winning 5-3 against Medway United, the prolific Ben Blake with a hat-trick, Peter Cheal and Jack Phillips were their marksmen. Jason Manderson and Jordan Lorentson (2) scored for Medway United.

In Division 4, Will Halliday was the top individual scorer of the day with six goals. He was supported by Krystian Kanty who scored four as Peninsula United hit double figures against Palmerston Athletic.

Liam White scored the Cross Park goal in their 3-1 defeat to Milton & Fulston Zebras, who scored through Ayden Piles and Jay Rogers (2).

Nathan Swan scored a consolation for Kent Marina 19 in an 8-1 defeat to Tunbury Athletic. Adam Whiting, Dan Pippin and Danny Stevens all scored twice with Darrell Lewis and Ryan Cox also on target.

Timon Firmin (2) and Carl Morson netted for Your Move Chatham in their 5-3 defeat to The Stumble whose goals came from Aaron Hains (2), Issac Graham, Jordan Reynolds and an own goal.

Division 5 River beat Hempstead Valley 7-0 thanks to Leon Mitchell (2), Jamie Mallion, Brandon Staff, Tony Ellis, Nathan Jones and Charlie Field.

Kye O’Brien scored the Anchorians Rovers goal in a 5-1 loss to Rochester Eagles Reserves.

Liam Baker scored for Westfield Sole and Josh Brown for Strood in their 1-1 draw.
