Medway Area Sunday League round-up (10/09/23)

Holders Quested eased past Star Meadow in the opening round of the Medway Area Sunday League’s Senior League Cup.

Sam Stace scored a hat-trick, with Fjord Rogers (2) and Harry Lester also on target in a 6-3 win over a Star side who replied through Ryan Bushell, Tom Leon and Tom Ball.

Cliffe Woods Colts, last season’s runners-up, were 3-0 winners over Swallow Rise 93, thanks to Robbie Summerhayes, Adam Bush and Joe Reynolds.

Borden Park Wanderers edged Rainham Kenilworth 10-9 on penalties following a 1-1 draw.

Rochester had Charlie Larter (2), Alex Longhurst, Alfie Montague and Sanjeev Sureshkumar to thank for their 5-2 win against Rainham Kenilworth 2.

Aaron Jones scored for Springhead Park in their 2-1 defeat to Chatham Town SRFC.

Jack Gladdish, James Staunton and Josh Crocker led Anchorians Athletic to a 3-1 victory over Wigmore.

Pentagon beat Athletic Bilbowls 3-1 on penalties after a 4-4 draw in the Junior League Cup.

Bradley Killick (2), Josh Hurn and Jack Thompson scored for Pentagon during the 90 minutes, while goalkeeper Luke Thornton made three saves in the shoot-out.

There were hat-tricks for Yani Ourabah and Dylan Walker, with Sam Cartmell completing the scoring in Eagles’ 7-1 win against Cliffe Woods Rangers. Liam Anderson scored for Rangers.

Tom Baker, Charlie Coppard and Terry Hutchison were on target as Bredhurst Juniors United beat Pegasus 81 3-1.

Matt Wills’ hat-trick, Jack Burnham and Connor Turner saw Cliffe Woods Colts A to a 5-3 win over a Hempstead side whose scorers were Jordan Holloway (2) and John Crowe.

Paul High, Liam Dawes, Harry Montgomery and James Drobka netted for New Brompton 1893 in their 4-1 victory over Bredhurst, with Aaron Kirtley replying.

Four goals from George Baker plus efforts from Elliot Huitson, Neal Parkes, Niall Cullen and Sam Lovey saw the Walnut Tree run out 8-2 winners against Cantium. Brandon Hooper and Harry Whitehead replied.

In the Junior League Trophy, Tunbury Athletic shaded Kent Marina 19 3-2 courtesy of goals from Luke Bonner, Darrell Lewis and Matthew Seymour. Marcus Keith and Lee Purdy struck for Marina.

New Road Athletic had Casey Belsey, Conor Young (2) and Joseph Girt to thank for their 4-1 win over Palmerston Athletic, who replied through Dylan Quinn.

Goals from Sam Jones, Paul Carter, Ben Jarvis, Jay Rogers and Marc Crissenden saw Milton & Fulston Zebras beat River FC 5-0.

The Stumble beat Rochester Eagles Reserves 4-2 with goals from Glen Martin, Ethan Graham, Jordan Reynolds and Joe Knowlton. Callum Kemp scored both Eagles goals.

Tayler Vaughan’s goal for Walderslade WMC wasn’t enough as Taffy Zinyure, Jensen Collins and Leyton Davies secured a 3-1 victory for Strood FC.

Liam Baker, Dan Rayment, Josh Inkpen and Josh Hallam were all on the scoresheet in Westfield Sole’s 4-2 victory over Wigmore Wanderers.

Doubles from Michael Dungworth and Elliah Pennant and a Sean Turner goal saw Cross Park defeat Your Move Chatham 5-0.

Matt Barber scored for Anchorians Rovers in their 4-1 defeat to Bredhurst Juniors.
