Gillingham winger Mustapha Carayol injured again; hamstring issue leads to his withdrawal against Bolton Wanderers

Mustapha Carayol’s injury-hit season suffered another blow on Saturday.

The Gillingham winger returned from injury to start the match against Bolton Wanderers but was withdrawn at half-time with another problem. He’s been hampered by injuries throughout his first season with the Gills.

Priestfield boss Neil Harris is a fan of Carayol, starting him in his first game after taking charge, but his involvement then was cut short by injury. He returned as an unused substitute at Lincoln last weekend before starting the match against Bolton.

He was taken off on Saturday with a tight hamstring.

Ben Reeves is another attacking player who has come back from injury recently and came off the bench at the weekend. Both players will need to be assessed ahead of Gillingham's crunch match at Doncaster this coming Saturday.
