Connor Ogilvie and Alex MacDonald pick up knocks for Gillingham ahead of weekend game against Doncaster Rovers

Gillingham picked up a couple of knocks in their midweek win at Lincoln City.

The Gills are already light in numbers and were unable to name a full bench at Sincil Bank, where they won the match 3-0.

A big concern for the Gills will be to defender Connor Ogilvie. The left-back has missed only one league match all season but he suffered an injury late on against Lincoln.

Boss Steve Evans confirmed a couple of players will be assessed on Friday ahead of the fixture against Doncaster Rovers at Priestfield the following day.

Alex MacDonald made his first start in seven games but picked up a muscle injury.

Evans said: “Connor Ogilvie got a bad knock in the last few minutes of the game when they had a counter attack.

“Alex MacDonald we took off because he was feeling his calf. We will see how they are more Friday than Thursday.

“We don’t have too many options to change, with the size of the squad, we will assess everyone.

“We freshened it up at Lincoln and we may freshen it up in areas that maybe some wouldn’t expect.”

Midfielder Matty Willock is expected to be back available after missing the bus for the midweek trip to Lincoln.

Other players, Callum Slattery, James Morton and Christian Maghoma have been out injured. Dominic Samuel is a long-term absentee.
