Invicta Dynamos rebounded well from their heavy defeat to Cardiff Dragons on Saturday with a 7-2 victory against Milton Keynes Thunder in the ENIHL Cup South on Sunday night.

AJ Smith opened the scoring for the home side on the powerplay at 11.44. Karl Lennon, with help from Smith and Anthony Lennon, then doubled the lead at 18.30.

Tom Roles’ goal just after the first break threatened to derail Invicta’s bid for a fourth straight win in the competition, before four goals in nine minutes gave the impetus back to the hosts.

Elliot Andrews and Ryan Giles set up Milan Kostolny for Invicta’s third. Martin Melichercik scored the fourth. Anthony Leone added the fifth and Giles claimed the sixth.

Going into the third period 6-1 ahead, Invicta allowed Milton Keynes a second goal, through Martyn Snape, before Andrews rounded off the scoring with the seventh.

Dynamos stay top of their cup group on eight points and are in pole position to reach the semi-finals.

The team’s league form is a slight concern however, as Cardiff inflicted a 5-1 defeat on the Gillingham side on Saturday, leaving Kevin Parrish’s men with seven points from six games.

Adam Copland’s blueline effort came after the hosts had built up a 5-0 lead.
