A year after their last double-digit win, Invicta Dynamos undoubted fire power came to the fore once again as they defeated Peterborough Islanders 16-3 in ENIHL South 1.

Up until Sunday evening’s encounter at Gillingham Ice Bowl, Invicta had won all four meetings with the Islanders this season by no more than two goals. But with the league title just five games away, Kevin Parrish’s side let loose a barrage of shots on the visitors' goal to claim their easiest two points of the campaign so far.

Adam Copland started the rout in the 10th minute before top goalscorer Martin Melichercik scored three times in seven minutes. AJ Smith’s goal in the dying seconds of the first period all but ended the game as a contest with 40 minutes to play.

Anthony Leone, Jack Tarczycki and Milan Kostolny added to the home side’s advantage in the second period, forcing Peterborough into a change of keeper. This did little to stem the flow of goals, however, as GB women’s international Kelly Herring was beaten eight times in the first 16 minutes of the third period.

Andy Smith grabbed the first three, before five strikes in four minutes from AJ Smith, Laurence Billing, Karl Lennon, Jamie Dancey and Melichercik put the finishing touches to a lethal display of finishing.
