Charlton striker Chris Dickson, who finished last season as Gillingham's top-scorer while on loan at Priestfield, has agreed a one-year extension to the two and a half year contract signed on his arrival at the club from Dulwich Hamlet in March, 2007.

The new deal was agreed in the week the 23-year-old was called up to play for Ghana in Wednesday's friendly against Tanzania.

Meanwhile, defender Grant Basey has been forced to withdraw from the Wales under-21 squad to play Romania on Wednesday after picking up a hamstring strain.
