Fenn Bell zoo in Hoo lowers entry prices again for February including half-term

Bosses at a conservation project who lowered its entry prices have extended the offer for another month.

The Fenn Bell zoo in Hoo was offering tickets for £2.50 per person throughout January to ensure it was affordable for its customers amid the cost of living crisis.

Zookeeper Andy Cowell said he has now decided to extend the offer until the end of February, which includes the half-term holiday.

Andy added: "Last month was an absolutely amazing success. We had days where we had to tell people we could not take any more in.

"We decided to extend the offer throughout February and the half term. We are not going to increase the price and try and make a few quid when the schools are off.

"We are doing it to allow people who could not come in January the opportunity to come. We thought it would a be a good thing to support everyone and thank them for their support.

"I hope it helps a little during these difficult times."

The cost of a ticket is usually £6 for children and £8 for adults and gives customers an all-day pass.

But for the rest of the month tickets will be discounted to £2.50 per person, meaning it will cost a family-of-four £10 as opposed to £28.

Andy said if he can bring in money through cheaper tickets it will help the project survive as it faces the pressure of rising costs and bills.

"This will allow us to make money and get through the winter period," he added. "We do a lot for the community. If we are a community-based business and can help we will."

It is advised customers book their visit in advance to avoid disappointment.
