‘Bright’ teenager, Ehis Inegbedion caught again in drug deal in Hillyfields Community Park, in Gillingham

This is the teenager caught dealing drugs in a park less than a month after he was released from custody for a similar offence.

Ehis Inegbedion had 10 wraps of heroin and £400 cash at Hillyfields community park, Gillingham, on May 27. He had been back in the community since May 1 after being sentenced to 20 months for dealing.

Prosecutor Kieran Brand told Maidstone Crown Court the latest incident was “classic street dealing”.

Inegbedion, of Holly Close, Gillingham, admitted possessing heroin with intent to supply and possessing cannabis.

Andrew Turnbull, defending, said Inegbedion passed GCSEs at school and started studying for A-levels but when he was struggling financially he agreed to look after some crack cocaine.

After his release Inegbedion’s dealer went after him for losing the drugs.

Judge Julian Smith sentenced Inegbedion, “a bright young man” to another 32 months.
