Chatham woman wakes to find burglar in Mount Road home armed with weapon as police launch appeal

A woman woke to a burglar wielding a weapon inside her home demanding her belongings.

The darkly dressed thief fled with jewellery and computer gear from his victim's Chatham home in the early hours of this morning.

Giving descriptions of her belongings, police have urged people to be vigilant and come forward.

The incident was reported at a house in Mount Road at about 3am.

"During the burglary, items including an Apple watch with an olive green strap, a gold ring with a blue stone, an iPhone, an iPad, an Apple laptop and a purse, were stolen.

"It was reported that he demanded her phone, and was believed to be holding a weapon," a spokesman said.

The suspect is described as around 5ft 5ins tall aged between 30 and 40 years old and was wearing dark clothing.

Detectives would like to hear from any witnesses, or anyone who has dashcam or domestic CCTV which could assist enquiries.
