Video: Hundreds attend funeral of murder victim Jack Treeby

The funeral procession as

Hundreds of mourners gathered today to pay their last
respects to father-of-five Jack Treeby, whose death has led to four
members of the same family being charged with murder.

A police escort accompanied the funeral procession as it made
its way from Mr Treeby's home in Rainham to St Peter’s Church,
Bredhurst, for the 10.30am service.

Mr Treeby's gold coffin was carried in a black carriage adorned
with flowers, led by four black horses.

The carriage was followed by nine funeral cars and seven flat
bed lorries carrying more floral tributes.

The
elborate arrangments included No 1 brother, a gym bench press and a
steam engine.

After the service, Mr Treeby, pictured, was buried at
Chatham Cemetery in Maidstone Road.

The 43-year-old, from Rainham, died from multiple head and chest
injuries after an incident with a car in Quarry Road, Maidstone, on
December 27.

His brother Gary Treeby, 39, was also injured during the
incident and treated in hospital for gunshot wounds.

Four family members are accused of the murder of Mr Treeby and
the attempted murder of Gary Treeby.

Jack Treeby’s brother Bill Treeby, 49, his wife Charity, 50, and
their sons Billy, 29, and George, 22, all of Queen Street, Paddock
Wood have been remanded in custody until April 9, when they will
enter pleas to the charges.

A provisional trial date has been set for September 27.
