Teenagers in hospital after car collides with e-scooter in Gillingham

Two teenagers have been taken to hospital after a collision involving a car and an e-scooter.

Emergency services including police, ambulance and air ambulance were called to Featherby Road, Gillingham, earlier.

Ambulance crews attended and were joined at the scene by the Kent, Surrey, Sussex Air Ambulance Service.

The two patients were assessed and treated at the scene before being taken to hospital the crash happened at 10.50am.

One patient was airlifted to Kings College Hospital and the second patient was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital by road.

Police are now appealing for information following the collision - which they say involved a silver Fiat 500 and an electric scooter being ridden by two teenage boys.

The boy taken to hospital London remains in a serious condition, and officers are appealing for witnesses who have not yet spoken to the police to get in contact.

Drivers with dashcam and residents with private CCTV footage are also asked to check for footage that may assist their enquiries.
