Plain-clothed police arrest 16-year-old in Gillingham for allegedly dealing heroin and crack cocaine

A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of dealing heroin and crack cocaine in a town centre.

It comes following a crackdown by plain-clothed police officers in Gillingham.

They spotted the boy acting suspiciously in Cross Street at around 8pm on Friday, September 30.

When they searched him, police say he was found to have 10 wraps of class A drugs, later confirmed to be a mix of heroin and crack cocaine.

He was arrested. When officers searched an address nearby they found more illegal substances.

The 16-year-old boy was charged with possession with intent to supply class A drugs and the possession of cannabis.

He appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court yesterday, where he was bailed with conditions.

He will return to Medway Youth Court on Monday, October 31.

Two boys, aged 15 and 17, were arrested inside the property on suspicion of drug offences.

They have since been released pending further inquiries.
