Detectives have renewed their appeal for information about an attack on a homeless man which left him fighting for his life.
Nearly three weeks after the incident, the 40-year-old man is still being treated in a London hospital where his condition is said to be stable.
Officers are treating the attack as an attempted murder. The man was found with multiple stab wounds staggering across the Great Lines Heritage Park in Gillingham.
The 40-year-old had been living rough at the park for about a month when the incident happened at about 8pm on August 18.
In a bid to get witnesses to come forward, detectives released a picture of the man, but didn’t release his name.
DCI Jon Clayden, from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, said: “A man remains in hospital having suffered serious injuries and detectives will continue to make inquiries to establish the circumstances around this incident.
“I would like to thank everyone who has already contacted police with information.
“This is an ongoing investigation and if you think you have information about this incident, however minor the details, I would encourage you to call police or Crimestoppers anonymously as your information might be able to help with our inquiries.”
