Spilt milk causes M2 traffic delays

A van's spilt milk load caused traffic delays on Thursday.

Police were called at 4:45am to an accident on the M2.

The smash happened on the coastbound carriageway between junctions 2 and 3 near the Medway Bridge.

A white Iveco refrigerated van carrying milk ended up on its side and milk was spilled onto the carriageway.

Part of the crash barrier is now blocking the carriageway and there is also glass on the road.

The van driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital for treatment.

The accident has caused serious congestion. However, two lanes of the coastbound carriageway are now open and traffic is moving.

Police are investigating the cause of the collision.
