School children performed at a series of concerts to celebrate Christmas.

Pupils from several primary schools took part in the Medway School Music Association’s spectacular at Rochester Cathedral.

During the four-day event more than 1,200 young people sang carols in front of packed audiences.

The association’s director Derek Blease said: “These concerts given children a chance to come together and share music in a bigger and more varied way.

Medway Council's portfolio holder for children’s services Cllr Les Wicks said: “Children’s Christmas concerts are always such fun and singing in the cathedral is an ideal way to celebrate Christmas.

“I thank the association for the great work they are doing for our young people.”
