Police step up anti- drink drive campaign

Cutting-edge technology will be used to crack down on drink drivers this festive season.

Kent Police will be using new breath testing equipment to detect drivers under the influence of drink or drugs.

The sophisticated machine records not only alcohol levels but date, time, location, gender, age and ethnicity.

Insp Paul Sellwood, head of the serious collision investigation unit, said: “ The consequences of drink driving can be horrendous.”
