Pedestrian hit by bus at Chatham Waterfront station

A bus station has been closed after a pedestrian was hit by a bus.

Accident investigation work is being carried out at Chatham Waterfront following a collision shortly after 2pm.

A post on Medway Council’s Facebook page says platform one to four at the station are currently closed due to the incident earlier today.

“Buses are departing from platforms five to eight instead, but delays are likely,” it states.

There is understood to be slow traffic in Globe Lane, Chatham, due to accident investigation work taking place.

A police spokesman said: “Officers are at the scene of a serious collision in Globe Lane, Chatham involving a bus and a pedestrian.

“Kent Police was called at 2.14pm today and patrols attended with South East Coast Ambulance Service.”
