Car and motorcycle crash on A289 Wainscott

A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital after a crash this afternoon.

The accident, which also involved a car, happened on the A289 at Wainscott just before 1pm.

The road was completely closed between the A228 Four Elms Hill and the A226 Gravesend Road while emergency services dealt with the incident.

One lane remained shut until just after 3pm. Delays have now cleared.

A police spokesman said: "Police were called at 12.48 to a report of a collision between a car and a motorbike.

"One lane is closed in the London bound direction while emergency services deal with the scene.

"The motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with injuries that are not considered life threatening at this stage."
