Car and motorbike crash on Rochester Bridge, going towards Strood

One person has been taken to hospital after a car and motorbike crashed while crossing a bridge.

The incident happened just before 8.30am on Rochester Bridge on the carriageway going towards Strood.

There are two ambulances and three police cars at the bridge.

Ambulance service spokesman Brian Cumming said: "We sent two ambulances to a collision between a car and motorcycle at Rochester High Street, on the bridge.

"The rider was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital with a leg injury."

Police spokesman James Walker said: "Officers are at the scene with the South East Coast Ambulance Service, who are assessing for any injuries."

Drivers should approach with care, one lane is blocked but traffic is still moving.
