More away day misery for Gills

Rotherham 3 Gillingham 2

GILLINGHAM once again conceded a late goal as they went down 3-2 at League 1 strugglers Rotherham on Saturday.

Substitute Marc Newsham headed in the winner four minutes from time after the visitors had led 2-1 with just 15 minutes to play.

The Millers took the lead after just seven minutes when Martin Woods' cross was headed in from close range by Delroy Facey.

But the game changed on 21 minutes when on loan winger Felix Bastians cut in onto his right foot and sent a superb shot past Neil Cutler from the edge of the box.

And the visitors were ahead less than three minutes later when Andrew Crofts rose highest at the far post to head in Bastians' corner.

But the equaliser came in the 75th minute when Chris O'Grady netted from close range and then Newsham had the final word.

Gillingham: Larrieu, Southall, Chorley, Cox, Jackman, Bentley, Crofts, Flynn (Pugh 87), Bastians (Easton 67), Spiller, Mulligan (Ndumbu-Nsungu 28).
Subs Not Used: Johnson, Tonge.
Attendance: 3,223.
