Chatham man Jeetinder Singh at Medway Magistrates' Court after brawl at The Cricketers pub in Rainham

A man has been charged with array after a mass brawl broke out at a pub in Rainham on Saturday night.

Witnesses reported seeing as many as 20 people involved in the fracas which happened at The Cricketers pub in the High Street.

One witness, who didn't want to be named, said one woman was hit over the head with a bottle and that is what started the incident.

A spokesman for police in Medway said: "Kent Police was called at 11.30pm on Saturday, November 8, to a report of a disturbance in Rainham.

"It was reported a fight broke out between a number of people at The Cricketers in High Street."

Jeetinder Singh, 28, of Dock Head Road, Chatham, was charged with affray and was bailed to appear at Medway Magistrates’ Court today.
