Man in his 20s robbed of his cash in Milner Road, Gillingham

A man in his 20s was robbed of his cash earlier today in a residential street in Medway.

The incident happened in Milner Road, in Gillingham, shortly after 11am this morning.

Officers from Kent Police who were in the area were called out to the road and liaised with the victim.

It is not known at this stage how much cash was stolen but the man was not injured during the incident.

Police say no weapons were used during the robbery.

One man who saw the police activity in the road but didn’t want to be named, said: “I saw three police cars and a group of about five to eight people walking down the hill towards the carriageway and wondered what they were doing.”

A spokesman for police said: “Kent Police was called at 11.06am on Tuesday, July 4, to a report of a robbery in Milner Road, Gillingham.

“Officers attended the scene and liaised with the victim, a man in his 20s. Enquiries are ongoing.”
