Man needs hospital treatment after street attack

A 63-year old man from Medway was assaulted as he walked along Station Road, Rainham, late on Monday night.

The victim, who has not been named, suffered injures to his face and was taken to hospital.

His injuries are not life threatening.

The assault, which is thought to have been carried out by more than one attacker, happened at about 10.45pm.

Officers from Medway Police, are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A spokesman for Medway Police said: "We were called to Station Road, following reports that a 63-year-old man had been injured.

The man, who is from the local area received injuries to his face following an alleged assault.

"He was taken to Medway Maritime hospital but his injuries were not life threatening.
