A man has died following a serious accident in the early hours of Saturday morning.

A silver BMW was the only vehicle involved in the crash around 2.20am on Roper's Lane, Hoo.

The car, travelling northbound, left the carriageway and overturned. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two other men travelling in the vehicle were taken to Medway Maritime Hospital and treated for minor injuries.

The men, aged in their 20s, are believed to be from the Isle of Grain.

Police closed the road between the A228 Ratcliffe Highway and Stoke Road to allow investigations to take place. It was reopened just before 7am.
