Man airflifted to hospital after collapsing in street

The air ambulance was scrambled when a man collapsed in the street after suffering a suspected cardiac arrest.

The casualty, who is thought to be in his 60s, was found outside Lordswood Medical Centre, in Sultan Road, Chatham, just before 8.30am on Tuesday.

Police officers and the South East Coast Ambulance service attended.

The road was closed for a short time to allow the Kent Air Ambulance to land at the scene.

The patient was taken to William Harvey Hospital in Ashford, which has a specialist emergency cardiac unit. His condition is unknown.
