M2 shut after van collides with barrier near Junction 3 for Blue Bell Hill

There are lengthy delays on the M2 after a van crashed into a barrier near a busy junction.

Emergency services and Highways Officers were called to the scene of the incident near Junction three for Blue Bell Hill.

The crash involving one vehicle was reported on the London-bound carriageway at around 1.40pm, and traffic officers warned of long delays.

Queues were reported stretching as far back as Junction 4.

Both carriageways were initially closed while the vehicle was removed, but traffic has now been released in both directions.

Police confirmed they were called to a report that a van had collided with the central reservation on the Londonbound carriageway, between junctions 4 and 3.

Officers remain on the scene but say no injuries have been reported.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service confirmed crews were called at 1.49pm to reports of a crash involving one vehicle.

Two fire engines attended and found all persons were out of the vehicle on arrival.

Kent Highways have warned drivers to expect delays in the area.

Two lanes remain closed London-bound and one lane is shut coastbound.
