A lorry ended up on its side after crashing on the A228 near Stoke on this morning (Wednesday).

It is due to be moved at around 9pm today and the road will be closed for a short time.

The crash happened at about 4.10am on the Grain Road and partially blocked it.

The vehicle, which had left Thamesport shortly before it came off the road, landed half-in and half-out of a roadside ditch.

The driver managed to get out and was taken to Medway Martime Hospital with minor injuries.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: “The highways agency was looking at putting temporary traffic lights up to get motorists moving again.

“There was a fuel spill so that had to be cleared up too.

“The incident has only partially blocked the road so the traffic can be diverted around it until it was possible to get the vehicle recovered.
