Lanes closed on A2 after accident on M2 coastbound at Junction 1 for Strood

Lanes were closed on a busy stretch of road due to an accident.

Traffic was queuing along the A2 and M2 coastbound, near Junction 1 for Strood after a crash this morning.

Police, highways officers and paramedics were called at 8.44am to a collision involving two cars.

Two lanes were closed at around 9.20am, but one was reopened approximately 25 minutes later.

KCC Highways warned drivers they should expect delays in the area.

Police confirmed a person was treated for a minor injury. Fire crews also attended due to a fuel spillage.

The road cleared and traffic had returned to normal by 12pm.
