Kevin Parrish is hoping new signing Daniel Borges will be available to debut at Bracknell after clinching the Canadian-born forward’s signature this week.

Borges joins Invicta Dynamos as the second non-EIHA trained player but will have to wait for the arrival of an International Transfer Card (ITC) before taking to the ice.

Head coach Parrish said: "He’s played with Daniel Calitri at a few clubs and I’ve spoken to a lot of people about him who all rate him.

"He’s a playmaker with a great shot and will fit in our system well and gives us the kind of extra firepower you need from an import.

"We are waiting on his ITC. It should come through on time but you can never tell."

Parrish is expected to be without Tim Smith for the trip to Bracknell on Saturday due to a hamstring injury.

Smith came off in the first period against the Milton Keynes Thunderat the weekend and Parrish is keen not to risk him too early in the season. He said: "Tim’s got bruising on his hamstring. We’ll have to wait and see how it heals but we don’t want to take any risks."
