Suspected Gillingham burglar charged after jewellery reported stolen from property in High Halstow

A suspected burglar has appeared in court after jewellery was reported stolen from a house.

Police were called to an address in High Halstow after a resident came home to discover their property had been broken into and items were missing.

Officers were alerted to the incident which happened last Thursday (February 8) and the following day a man was arrested.

They also recovered jewellery from three separate locations.

Gavin Lawless, of Fourth Avenue, Gillingham has since been charged with burglary.

The 45-year-old appeared before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Saturday and was remanded to a hearing at Maidstone Crown Court on March 4.
