Invicta Dynamos ended their league campaign with a four-point weekend and a fourth-placed finish in NIHL Division 1 South.

But it was the points that the Mos threw away over the course of the regular season that left head coach Kevin Parrish to ponder ‘what if?’

While his team finished fourth, last season’s play-off winners Chelmsford Chieftains scooped the title.

Parrish (pictured) said: "We could have finished higher than we did but we’ve thrown away some silly points this season.

"There was a game away at Streatham and at Bracknell and our recent game at home where we lost 5-4 to the Wightlink Raiders.

"We’ve thrown 10-12 points away and had we not, we would have been challenging for the title. I’m not happy with fourth and we could have done more.

The table doesn’t lie.
"Chelmsford have consistently played well and they are deserved winners.

"They have a bunch of guys twho have been together for several years, whereas we have made changes, with people coming in and out."

The Mos will now have a weekend off before beginning their play-off campaign, which sees them face Cardiff NIHL Devils next weekend. The away leg in Cardiff is on the Saturday ahead of a return to Gillingham the following day.

"We’ve got the week off now and it’s a chance to re-energise," added Parrish.
