We’ll win ugly if we have to this weekend but we should be looking to do it with a bit of style.

The result at Accrington was devastating, especially the first half performance, and the players know it wasn’t acceptable.

We are gutted for the fans who made that trip up there and it wasn’t particularly nice for myself either on my birthday.

We have watched the DVDs and scrutinised it in detail because we need to put it right.

But we have to try and get the boys upbeat because if we want them to go out and perform, there’s no point slating them.

They know they weren’t good enough in the first half but showed us what they are capable of in the second.

Footballers have a short career so they should go out and enjoy themselves.

Instead of being down with your body language, go out and have a good go.

We need to come out flying tomorrow (Saturday) and get Priestfield rocking.

We know Hereford are in a precarious position but they are battling for their manager and that’s what we want from our boys. We want them to be wearing the shirt with pride and performing for the fans, manager and the chairman, who backs them and gives them good salaries.

One familiar face in the Hereford team will be Delroy Facey, who will want to do well against his old club. I was at Bolton and Gillingham with him. He came here and didn’t get the run in the team he wanted and when the last manager, Mark Stimson, came in, he decided he was going to let him go.

He is physical and the same mould as Bayo Akinfenwa, a intimidating guy but a great lad off the field.
