Fog causes traffic delays in Medway

Thick fog caused delays for motorists during rush hour across the Towns on this morning (Monday).

Police were called to two crashes on the M2 and A2.

The first was at about 6.30am at the A2/M2 London bound carriageway near Wainscott.

Three cars were involved; a white Peugeot Partner van, a white Ford Transit van and a red Renault Clio. Two people were taken to Medway Maritime Hospital with minor neck pain.

The accident caused long delays back to junction 2 of the M2 for Cuxton.

Police were also called to athe Wainscott bypass at about 6.55am. The collision involved a grey Jaguar X-type, a silver Peugeot 206, black Peugeot 407 and grey Vauxhall Insignia.

Drivers travelling from the Rainham direction sat in queuing traffic along Lower Rainham Road, which is thought to have been caused by motorists taking their time due to the thick fog in the area.
