Chatham man charged after crash Corporation Road, in Gillingham on Christmas Eve

The emergency services were called out to a crash in a residential street in Gillingham on Christmas Eve.

Firefighters and police were sent to the scene after at least one car crashed into a wall in Corporation Road, at about 9.50pm.

A police spokesman said no one was injured during the smash but that a man had been charged with drink driving.

Aaron Salt, 23, of Mount Road, Chatham, was arrested and later charged with drink-driving. He was bailed to appear at Medway Magistrates Court on January 19.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said no one was trapped in the vehicle and that firefighters made the scene safe and left about 10 minutes later.
