Fire crews had to rescue a woman left trapped in a car after a crash in Strood.

Two vehicles collided at the junction of Gravesend Road and London Road at around 6.10pm.

A fire spokesman said: "One person had managed to get out of a vehicle prior to crews arriving.

"A second had to be released by firefighters using hydraulic rescue equipment.

"Both were left in the care of South East Coast Ambulance Service."

Two fire engines were sent to the scene and left just before 7.30pm.
