THIS is the face of a man police want to question in connection with the attempted abduction of a young schoolgirl.

The 11-year-old was walking home in Wainscott, near Rochester, on Wednesday afternoon when the stranger pulled up in his van and grabbed her.

The man tried to force her into the front seat of his van, but the girl struggled free and ran to her home nearby.

Although terrified by her ordeal she managed to give detectives a good description of the man who tried to snatch her in the Benenden Road area.

Police who today issued this e-fit image of the man are warning children to be on their guard. Det Sgt Derek Littler said:"If anyone recognises this man and knows of his whereabouts they should contact us immediately.

The man is described as white, aged between 25 and 35, muscular with black hair. He wore dark clothing.
