Firefighters called to Boots in Strood High Street

Firefighters were called to clear smoke at a town centre pharmacy.

Two fire engines were seen outside Boots in Strood at 12.20pm this afternoon after an alarm was set off.

Smoke could be seen coming out of the store front in the High Street and police were also on the scene.

Police spokesman Jo Pattison said: "Kent Police was called reports of an alarm being activated in a shop in Strood High Street just before 12.20pm on Sunday, March 8.

"Officers attended alongside Kent Fire and Rescue Service where fire crews dealt with smoke inside the premises.
