Invicta Dynamos’ post-season curse has reared its ugly head once more, according to head coach Kevin Parrish, as they prepare for their opening ENIHL South play-off game on Saturday.

Andy Smith (virus), Adam Copland (ankle), Tim Smith (hand), Jamie Dancey (groin), captain Grant Baxter (bronchitis) and Damian Welch (work) are all doubts for the semi-final first leg encounter with Cardiff Dragons in the Welsh capital, while Martin Melichercik remains suspended.

However, Parrish remains upbeat about his team’s chances.

“The Invicta curse has hit us again,” said Parrish. “It always seems to happen around this time of year.

“We go through the entire regular season with an injury here and an injury there, then suddenly we have six or seven players struggling when it comes to the business part of the year.

“Despite this, and the fact that we tend to perform badly down in Cardiff, we should still have enough quality in our squad to get a result over the two legs.”

On a positive note, top points scorer Milan Kostolny returns to the line-up for the Cardiff Bay clash after the EIHA confirmed his ban was at an end.
